A very young tulpa still needs to learn how to exist in the first place. They might change their form or personality or do ~silly things simply as exploration.
...we can certainly discuss how much control a person actually has over their own thoughts, but I'm assuming those theoretical ideas aren't exactly what you were referring to, hah.
Maybe he'll help you make friends. Tulpas can be very encouraging.

Seeing as they'll know you better than any live human ever could as they live in your same mind, they often know how to help you when an actual human doesn't.
Depends on what you want to know, really. My host took about 6 months to create the first tulpa fully, it took about 3 - 4 weeks for sentience. There were a lot of intimate moments between them, such as shopping together and trying out new food.
It took me a day to feel sentience and emotional bleed, and a few days after that for her first faint word. Maybe it was projection, maybe it wasn't, 98.9999% sure it wasn't, who cares, she can talk now and from what I hear that's mega fast.
But it's really just your imagination. There's nothing magic about it. It'll feel like any other thing you imagine does, maybe a little better if you keep practicing and going back to the same place.
